What does Rank on Top actually do?
You paste a page URL. We read it, propose the three non-branded keywords it should rank for, then pull the pages that currently outrank you on Google (including Google AI Overview citations). You pick up to three competitors and we run a deep SEO audit on your page and each rival, then give you a head-to-head report for every dimension — title, content depth, links, E-E-A-T, structured data, page speed and more — with the exact fix to close each gap.
Which search engines does it use?
Google organic results plus Google AI Overview (the Gemini-powered answer box). Both come from the same live search, so what you see is what Google shows real searchers. We do not fabricate ChatGPT or Perplexity rankings — we surface only the engines we actually query.
How much does it cost?
Finding competitors is free and bounded by your plan’s SERP-lookup allowance. Running the full benchmark — auditing your page plus up to three competitors and generating the reports — costs 200 credits, charged once when you press Run benchmark. If the run fails, the credits are automatically refunded.
What are the “main” and “muted” competitor lists?
After we pull everyone ranking for your keywords, AI sorts them by how similar each page is to yours. Pages of the same type (your real competition) go to Main rivals; off-type results like directories, aggregators or different-intent pages go to Muted. You can drag any page between the two lists before choosing who to benchmark.
How accurate are the comparison numbers?
Every number — word count, title length, link counts, per-check score, page speed — is measured directly from each page by the same audit engine that powers our full website audit. What if a competitor blocks crawlers?
